First impressions are everything.

Entryways are usually what people see when they first walk into your home.

Once you get past the door, your guests are going to do one of two things a) scope out where to set their coats/belongings b) ask you about that fabulous new scent you’ve hinted around the room. If they don’t you’ve got some work to do! Below are some ways to revamp your entryway, courtesy of the best entrances out there!

Colorful Carpets in your Entryway:

Brighten up your entryway space by adding a colorful floor to the scene. It’s a simple way to spice up the area.

When dedicating an entire wall(s) to one color is too much of a commitment, try a colorful carpet or rug that brings just the right amount of joy (and attention) to your space. Not sure which rug to chose? Have a look at our ultimate guide to chose a rug.

Entryway Flooring:

Sometimes, a carpet won’t do. Therefore, think tiles. If you enjoy some pattern play, using some graphic tiles will have your guests in awe at all the floor play. In addition, the graphic tiles will make your entryway seem larger!

Entryway Smoke and Mirrors:

Mirror, mirror on the wall – who’s the most inviting space of all?

Mirrors are magic.

They help you look your best, and in an entryway, they magnify all the details you’ve incorporated. Just like the tile floor, the mirrors will elongate a space, making it appear as though there is rooms for days down that (otherwise) slim corridor.

Off the Wall

For the minimalists out there, less is more. Similarly, if you want to keep things simple, paint the walls in an exceptionally bright color to shed some light to the other simple – yet elegant – elements in the space.

For those that aim to project their personalities as soon as your shoe hits the floor, try engaging your audience with some art play. It will allow for your guests to admire and enquire about your taste. Tip: Using different types of frames will make each piece unique and look less like a collage.

Bench Warmer

So maybe in baseball, the bench wasn’t all that fun…but in an entryway it’s all the world of! Spruce up your entryway by going a more casual route with a bench. They serve as a great way for your guests to get comfortable. Similarily benches serve as another surface for you to show your style!

How’s it Hanging? :

Adding on to the idea of a bench, hangers are another pragmatic way to save you space and show off some of your more fashionable accessories. Friends in the past have used it to guide their vines throughout the entryway, a natural, and chic way to design!

Sectional Thinking:

Cluster photographs or art together in one area, rather than placing them sporadically to create a more put together entryway. It gives the smallest of entryways a bigger personality that says, “Welcome to My Home” in a larger-than-life way, when the floor plan isn’t in your favor.

Think Big:

Instead of having many little items to decorate your entryway, stick to bigger pieces. For example, a larger mirror will open up the space and enable light to reflect into your home. In addition, add drama by treating your entryway as the red carpet: more is more.

Enjoy your entryway space for its beauty and practicality
